Bamvoo in Seongbuk-dong, at the end of the road
by A.mont
Every neighborhood has its own hot spots
places that naturally draw the eye.
Especially on hot days like these, people tend to g
ather where they know they’ll find comfort.
And more often than not, that place is a café.
But the café we introduce today is one the editor
wholeheartedly recommends for those seeking
something beyond the ordinary — a space
where atmosphere and ease come first,
and where a quiet moment feels truly intentional.

The moment you open the door and step inside,
the irritation brought on by the heat quickly fades away,
replaced by the comforting aroma of freshly baked bread
a scent that instantly brings a sense of happiness.

The bread baskets, with a design that makes
you want to set off on a picnic at any moment,
invite you to imagine the kind of happy smiles
they might soon carry.

The neatly arranged breads were more than
enough to delight all five senses.

After ordering bread and coffee, we carried our light,
happy steps toward the second floor,
where a staircase came into view one that felt
as though it might lead to a hidden, almost mysterious place.

The moment you step inside, you’re drawn
to the clean-lined sofas arranged side by side
a space that invites you to sit, slow down,
and simply enjoy the moment.
It feels like a bakery café you might stop by
after visiting an art museum,
a place to cool off from the heat while lingering
in a quiet, thoughtful atmosphere.

Looking for a quieter corner, we asked at the counter,
and without hesitation, we were guided to the bamboo room.
There, an entirely different atmosphere unfolded
a space where the presence of nature could be felt more closely.

Tucked away behind the cozy and tranquil main space,
the bamboo room feels as though it offers
a moment of calm to a weary mind.

We had the chance to meet the pâtissier in person,
and in that moment, we could clearly see
how happiness is being created together with A.mont.

Like flour-dusted dough clinging softly to white,
Bamvoo is a place built on the belief that
what matters most is creating together.

Throughout the interview, the pâtissier
greeted us with a constant smile.
Seeing that expression, the editor couldn’t help
but wonder if it was the very samehappiness people
feel when they take their first bite of the bread.

His philosophy of learning and growing together
was enough to fully draw in even the editor’s attention.
Beyond Bamvoo, his days have recently been filled
with an even greater sense of happiness thanks to his girlfriend.
And with that, a new interest has quietly taken shape: fashion.

From the Hapjeong flagship to the
second location in Seongbuk-dong,
it is this steady dedication to effort and learning
that has likely shaped who he is today.

A door on the mid-level of the second floor
leads out to an outdoor terrace.
Beyond it, a space is set with clean, modern chairs,
offering a place to sit and enjoy the outdoor view.

From the terrace, Seongbuk-dong felt clear and refreshing —
like a view from a mountain valley filled with crisp, clean air.
A.mont hopes that today’s Bamvoo continues on, just as it is.
