On a sunny day, our editor visited Touch 183
in Bangi-dong,a café famous not just for its coffee
but also for its incredibly delicious bread.
Located on a main street, the moment you
step inside Touch 183, you immediately sense
that this is one of Bangi-dong’s hottest spots.
The café is filled with the aroma of freshly
baked bread and the lively presence of its customers.
The owner of Touch 183, who also dons Eymont uniforms
and aprons as today’s chef, leads the café with passion.
Born and raised in Bangi-dong, the owner opened
the café to bring joy to the local community.
The name “Touch 183” combines the concept of “touch,”
symbolizing skilled hands and honest baking,
with the café’s address at 183 Bangi-dong.
The bread, baked and sold strictly on the same day,
was more than enough to bring delight to the customers.
The owner shares that the first joy comes from
seeingthe morning’s bread turn out perfectly,
and the second joy comes from watching customers
enjoy the bread they’ve baked themselves.
She is the owner’s wife and a newlywed.
Having left her corporate job, she now
helps run the café’s front of house.
With her bright smile, she warmly welcomes
everyone who walks in.
Upon entering the first floor, you’re greeted
by the open bakery at the front,
giving a sense of trust and transparency.
Perhaps the reason our Eymont uniforms
and aprons stood out even more
was because the staff were so focused on their work,
they barely noticed the cameras.
The stairs leading down to the basement gave me
the feeling of being in Europe.
Coming down the stairs, the basement hall feels
so cozy and tidy, it almost feels like being at home.
The careful attention to detail in the interior may be
thanks to the owner’s elder sister, who studied art.
