The Freshness of the City, Grit918 — by A.mont
Just outside Exit 11 of Gyodae Station,
there is said to be a hideout in the heart
of the city that feels anything but urban.
Drawn by that idea, we set out to find the place.

Through the wide glass windows, fresh vegetables
and a variety of fruits came into view.

The market-style displays, reminiscent of
a well-known European alley market,
were just what we needed to cool down after the heat.

This is the first-floor view of Grit918, a place
that has been open for only two months.

With its clean, well-organized atmosphere,
Grit918 feels like a restaurant with a refined
elegance reminiscent of the Second Industrial Revolution.
Here, A.mont was sharing in a new beginning.

During the shoot, we had the opportunity
to meet the bakery chef.
Originally trained in architectural design,
the chef shared that his interest in bread began
while working a part-time job in his youth,
after noticing a bakery across the street.
The more he learns and the more he bakes,
the more endless the world of bread becomes —
from flavors to design. Even today, that fascination
continues to bring him new questions and challenges.

The chef offered to show us another
space and led us downstairs.

As we went down the gray-colored staircase,
rows of bars came into view, evoking
the atmosphere of a wine-aging cellar.

Beers arranged by country and type delighted our eyes.

Here as well, we could spot A.mont.
From a personal perspective, it feels as though more and more places across the country are now working alongside A.mont.
To the editor, it feels like the results of steady effort are beginning to take shape.
Looking ahead to even more diverse and compelling spaces,
the editor continues to move forward today as well.
